The Kiosk is a bridge connecting independent journalists and media across languages and topics.

Read more about the The Kiosk Coalition

an international coalition of independent media and journalists

Our members are individual journalists or media platforms who rely on independent funding sources, who are not part of big media conglomerates and do not benefit from the support of billionaires, well-funded think tanks or political lobbying organizations.

The Kiosk provides services to help members grow their audiences

The coalition offers services to members to help them build bridges across languages and to reach new audiences.

Reciprocal

The idea is simple. Everyone helps each other gain exposure to a new audience pool.

Members agree to share certain content into a content pool that is available to all members to draw from for reposting on their own platforms – always with full credit of course.

You share some of your content. Other members post your content and in this way introduce you and your work to their audience.

In return, you introduce their work to your audience when you post selected work from the shared content pool.

Everyone gains access to a larger audience of new and interested followers.

International and multi-language

Often media platforms in different countries are working on related topics.

The Kiosk brings together journalists who are focusing on related issues and whose audiences would be interested in an enlarged perspective.

For example, immigration is a big issue in France. It is also currently a crisis issue in Pakistan. And of course it is a topic that will be front and center in upcoming elections in the U.S.

By sharing selected, relevant content, everyone gets exposed to a new audience that is interested in their topic.

Mutual Support

The Kiosk welcomes members who understand and believe in the idea of mutual support. In these times, a genuinely independent media is more important than ever.

Many journalists in different countries are working on content that has a receptive audience already somewhere else. Everyone’s audience can expand if we work together.

The Kiosk expects to change and grow organically overtime based on members’ needs. The constant will be the dedication to this idea of mutual support and making a reality out of the adage that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
