Translations - how it works

Contribute content into the pool and we’ll take care of the translation of subtitles and transcripts.

We’ll use AI tools to create an initial draft and then manually review and correct it with a fine-tooth comb.

We’ll send you the finished product to use on your platform.

We’ll make sure your content is accessible in all the appropriate member languages.

Reach new audiences via reciprocal sharing

Members agree to contribute some regular content into a shared pool available for reposting by other members. Here’s a picture of how it works.

How does reciprocal sharing grow audiences?

Examples of shared content and growing an audience

US journalist AAA posts a video about rising accusations of antisemitism into the content pool and reposts a video from French journalist BBB on this same topic

This introduces BBB to a new audience that is already interested in this topic but now they have a whole new perspective from France

German journalist DDD puts in a video about immigration and reposts a video from Pakistani journalist YYY on the same topic

Journalist YYY has now been introduced to DDD’s audience. The primarily German audience is already known to be interested in immigration and now they learn about the parallels with what is happening in Pakistan.

Joint Productions

The Kiosk will promote the idea of occasional joint productions where, for example,  members may decide it would be advantageous to co-host an interview. In these cases, when a paticular panel or event is agreed upon the Kiosk will coordinate with everyone involved to organize the event.

Newsfeed

The Kiosk hosts a real-time automatically updating newsfeed displaying current content by coalition members. All items include full attribution and link to the original source.

See the newsfeed here.

Members-only telegram channel (optional)

The members-only telegram channel is a strictly optional means for engaging directly with fellow independent media colleagues. It can be a place for suggesting and organizing joint productions, asking for help in contacting a prospective interviewee or exchanging ideas or other forms of mutual support.

Mutual Support
The Kiosk welcomes members who understand and believe in the idea of mutual support. In these times, a genuinely independent media is more important than ever.

Many journalists in different countries are working on content that has a receptive audience already somewhere else. Everyone’s audience can expand if we work together.

The Kiosk expects to change and grow organically overtime based on members’ needs. The constant will be the dedication to this idea of mutual support and making a reality out of the adage that the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts.
